- Swim Route: Traverse the entire length of Lake Geneva, starting from the iconic Chillon Castle in Veytaux and concluding at the picturesque Bains des Pâquis in Geneva.
- Distance: Approximately 70 kilometres, twice the length of the English Channel.
- Water: Immerse yourself in the pristine fresh waters of Lake Geneva, sourced directly from the breathtaking Alpine landscapes surrounding it.
- Challenge Level: Considered one of the toughest open water swims globally, this ultimate test of endurance and determination awaits you.
- Requirements: Relay teams must complete two swims of two hours each on the same day in water no warmer than 18°C/64°F. Swimmers should wear no clothing or aids to enhance heat retention, buoyancy, or speed.
- Preparation: Relay teams should have prior proof of completion in a recognized event or similar swims, deemed acceptable by the LGSA (Lake Geneva Swimming Association), conducted up to 18 months before their booked swim window.
- Responsibility: The relay team leader plays a crucial role in uploading all their team’s self-assessment forms promptly after completion.
Please note that while these relay swims are challenging, they are relatively short compared to the main Lake Geneva swim attempt. Therefore, they should not be treated as training swims. We strongly recommend incorporating regular longer-duration swims in water temperatures of 18°C/64°F or less into your training regimen. After all, as the saying goes, “train hard, fight easy.”
Prepare for an unforgettable journey across the pristine waters of Lake Geneva. The Ultimate Trophy Swim is not just a swim; it’s an adventure of a lifetime!
