We’re delighted to welcome Vicki Summersby to SwimTayka, as our new Financial Director.
Vicki is passionate about our work – running free swimming and drowning prevention programmes for children living alongside water – but she does have a confession: she doesn’t especially enjoy swimming!
“Although water isn’t for me, and I was fearful of water when I was younger, I am very supportive of what SwimTayka does. The cause is amazing. So while I can’t help by getting in a boat, or taking part in a Channel swim, I can help look after the charity’s finances.”
Vicki, who is founder and co-director of Cheltenham-based PBT Accountancy, will spend the next few weeks looking at our funding and finances.
“We have clients who are swim instructors, and we deal with every kind of industry, and every kind of set up and structure, so I am sure we can bring some great expertise to the role.”
Vicki will take a holistic approach, to investigate what is working well or what might need changing.
“I’ll look at the income, the fundraising and donations, identify any efficiencies that can be made, and suggest how we might best deploy our funds. I’ll also provide our trustees with the up to date financial information they need, to base decisions on.”
We’re delighted Vicki has come on board to support the charity, even if she will be waving from the beach!
